Condition:-
It's a used race car, not a show room stunner. The GRP parts have various stone chips and scrapes and the paint is faded in places from being rubbed by the car cover when on my trailer. The chassis is painted with Hammerite which has flaked in a few places showing through some minor surface rust. However it is a presentable car.
Other Info:-
This car is not road legal. The history of it is that it was built and raced in the year 2000 for the 750mc Locost race series and used as a track day car. I bought it in 2003 in its original spec with a 1300cc race prepared Ford Crossflow engine. I used the car in 2004 for hillclimbs and with the crossflow engine this chassis with me driving managed a 69.48 second run at Loton Park hillclimb fending off a few 1600 Caterhams! In 2005 I then decided to change it to use the R1 engine as a bit of a project and to produce a car that could compete with more serious kit.
It's been a slow project and took me till the end of 2008 to get it to a running stage. It was then garaged until the beginning of this year when I found time to get back to it. It's had a clean and tidy up with new oil/coolant and started first time when I fitted the new spark plugs and battery. It has not yet been run in anger with the R1 engine, only run on a private road to check everything works ok.
It would be a good project if you want a working race car to convert for road use or use it as a dedicated race/track car. I'm looking to move to a Westfield SEiW or Caterham road/race car hence the reason for sale.
